PMD: Rescue Team Vision 10: Freezing Up

I walked through the north pole, shivering like mad now due to the gold temperature.  I then sneezed.

"Ugh...  It's freezing...  I'm alone...!  My NOSE IS RUNNING!!"  I shouted, angrily before calming myself down & moving on.

I looked around & for some reason, I started to feel...  Alone.  More than usual.

"This is such a lonely place...  The snow's so deep here."  I said.  "I haven't seen ANY sign of life either...  Am I...  Alone?"

As I thought about that, I saw something.  It looked like a Pokemon I've never seen before.  It had white fur with a blue tail & face, a blue horn protruding on its right.  It was staring at me...  And I was staring at it.

"...What...?"  I asked.

Just then, it fled somewhere.

"...Was that...  A Pokemon?"  I asked myself.

I briefly thought I was hallucinating, but it seemed...  Unlikely.  But why was it even here?  I soon shook it off before moving again.  But I stopped to see an amazing sight: Groups of trees covered in snow under snowfall.  The snow kind of looked like frozen powder.  I wish I could marvel at this all day, but the others might still be in pursuit.  Besides...  It could be harsh there.  I saw a sign that read: "Entering Frosty Forest".  So that's what this place is called.  I'd have to go through this place if I want any progress.  May as well enjoy it while it lasts.  Just then, a burst of cold wind flowed through the area.  I was hesitant about doing this considering how cold it is, but I don't have a choice.  I can't hide here forever.  ...That would be a horrible idea either way.  I just had to keep my head high...  And keep moving forward.  I remembered hearing about 3 legendary birds from Alakazam.  That thought ran through my head as I realized the last word in the names of Zapdos & Moltres: Dos & Tres.  They're 2 & 3 in Spanish respectively!  ...But what could the "Uno" bird be?  I was hoping I wouldn't find out, but I have a feeling I'm going to find out whether I like it or not.  I saw a walk through the Snow Path as well as Frosty Forest.  I took the Snow Path to make myself stronger just in case.  The fact that there was a looping path here pretty much confirmed my suspicions that the last bird would be here.

The Snow Path's ground was covered in snow, the water was frozen around here & the walls had rocks covered in snowed on leaves.  The sign pointed to a row of trees lining the path forward.  Like the Rock Path, the way forward felt curved as if I was going in circles.  The Pokemon here were Snorunt, Piloswine, Furret & Azurill.  The 1st run, I got a box which had a Rainbow Gummi & a Power Shard.  A few runs later, I got a box with Tiny Reviver Seed & another Power Shard.  Once I was done, I went into the Frosty Forest.  It also had snowy ground with trees either frozen or covered in snow.  There were also stumps that had snow on them too.  The "walls" were just big piles of snow.  It was also a dark place, so I had to be careful navigating through here.  I found the way forward wasn't marked by signs, but by faceless snowmen, 1 on either side.  In fact, they looked like nothing more than 3 snowballs stacked onto one another.  I decided to give them cute smiles.  Just for fun.  In fact, I did that every time before I went through the path forward.  Little did I know that someone was watching me.

"Someone has intruded upon the forest..."  Said the being.  "The enfeebled flow if icy winds...  Is the intrusion to blame?  It must be stopped to protect this forest."

I saw the 3 Pokemon that were in the Snow Path along with Nosepass, Ditto & Mightyena.  I almost got knocked once, but a Tiny Reviver Seed saved me.  I soon got to a resting point.  I arranged my items & continued.  Meanwhile, Rosie just reached the entrance to Frosty Forest.  She was wearing a pink eskimo coat & boots for her 4 feet.  The coat itself resembled Nana the Ice Climber's coat.

"He's very brave to go through intense heat AND cold..."  Said Rosie.  "It often makes me forget just how young he is..."

As she walked through it, she saw the snowmen with various cute smiles on her face.  She giggled at this.

"Teehee, still as silly as ever, I see..."  She smiled.  "This must mean I'm getting close though...  Just keep moving..."

I was soon heading into the Heart of the Frosty Forest.  The 1st thing I did was eat a Life Seed to increase my health threshold.  The Pokemon in this area included Metang, Lairon & Rhyhorn.  They had Lightning Rod too.  I soon reached a cliff overlooking the forest itself.

"If I can just get through here..."  I said.  "I'll be able to move forward!"

Just then, I heard something which made me freeze in place.

"Wh-Who's there?!"  I asked.

"......Turn back."  Said the voice.  "You may not pass."

Then, the area dimmed.  This was just like...  Like...  When I encountered Moltres...!

"Wh-Who's there?!"  I cried.

Snow started falling.

"You are forbidden to pass."  Said the voice.  "If you try to pass regardless, then you must defeat me 1st!!"

The snow became more intense.  Then, the snow storm went into full throttle as a harsh light washed around the area.

"AAAAH!  MY EYES!!"  I cried, closing them tightly & covering them.

Then, an icy twister appeared as a bird shriek was heard as a blue bird appeared!

"I am the warder of ice, Articuno!"  Said the bird.  "I will destroy those who enter the forest with all my might!!  LET'S BEGIN!!"

She then shrieked again.  Panicking, I quickly used my Confuse Wand on her, causing her to completely miss her Ice Shard attack as it caused her to fire it behind her.  I then used my Whirlwind Want to blow her back into a wall to hurt her.  She did use Ice Shard on me, managing to fire it in my direction, but I managed to dodge all the small ice shards quickly as well as her Icy Wind.  I did my Confuse & Whirlwind combo again, but this time, she used mist, making it impossible to decrease her stats.  Not that it really mattered.  But since my Confuse Wand broke, I had to use my Petrify Wand instead.  Soon after, my Whirlwind Want broke too, so I resorted to my Sleep & Petrify Wands.  I then used a Blast Seed to burn her up a bit.  She didn't respond to this well as she used her Ice Shard on me, hitting me this time as I got pelted in different places by them.  They were cold, sharp & painful.  I retaliated with another Sleep, Petrify & Blast combo.  She immediately used Powder Snow on me, breathing cold dust particles at me, completely freezing me up, rendering me unable to do anything now.  She then finished me off with Icy Wind & Ice Shard.  But my Reviver Seed saved me.  I used my Petrify Wand again, but somehow, she broke out of it instantly & used Powder Snow again.  It happened the 2nd time, but the 3rd time, she couldn't break free as easily, so I used another Blast Seed.  She responded by using Icy Wind on me, but I leaped to the side, using the Petrify & Blast combo again.  She used Icy Wind on me again, but I dodged it again & used my combo.  But she managed to break out of the petrification instantly & she hit me with Ice Shard again.  I used my Petrify & Blast combo 1 more time before she knocked me out with 1 last Ice Shard, but another Tiny Reviver Seed saved me.  My Petrify Wand broke & I was out of Blast Seeds.  But I did have some Stun Seeds to spare.  She easily broke free of the 1st one & used Mist again, but the 2nd time, I had the chance to actually attack her now!

"Alright, prepare to face my wrath!!"  I exclaimed as I charged up energy in my tail again.

I threw my Electro Ball right at her, causing her to shriek in pain as the electricity coursed through her body, finishing her off.  Rosie heard that shriek & stopped in place.

"Did Donnie...  Beat her?"  She wondered to herself, shocked at the situation.

"Please, Articuno!  I need to get through, please!"  I exclaimed.

She slowly got up, still angry.

"No!  I will not allow you to pass!"  She exclaimed.

"Hold on!  You said-" I began.

"I DON'T CARE!"  She interrupted.  "The frigid forest air warmed considerable recently!"

"What?!  I'm still freezing to death!"  I protested.

"You may not feel the difference, but I've been around longer than you!  The flow of frigid air's being disturbed & the snow is melting!  Even the snow that has NEVER melted!!  Not once has this happened...  Until YOU appeared!  This must be YOUR doing!!"

"WHAT?!  NO!  That's just a coincidence!"  I cried.  "Please listen to me!  It's not my fault!  It's not just here that's suffering!  Natural disasters are happening everywhere, even Moltres's Mt. Blaze!  Even if I never came here, it would still happen!"

"You expect me to believe that?"  Articuno protested.

She then started building up ice power, intending to finish me off!

"I HAD ENOUGH OF THIS!  PREPARE TO DIE!!!"  She shrieked.

"WAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"  My scream filled the air of the entire forest, startling the Pokemon there & causing Rosie, who was halfway through the forest to panic.

"Donnie!  NO!!"  She cried, moving faster.

But then, a voice roared "STOP THIS AT ONCE!!!" & Articuno's attack was countered by the same Pokemon I saw ealier!

"A-Absol?!"  Cried Articuno.

"What he's saying is true!"  Exclaimed the Absol.  "Disasters are indeed happening all over the place!"

The Absol sounded kind of...  Feminine.

"...What?"  Articuno asked shocked.

"Yes.  I can sense them."  Said Absol.  "They're of a special nature; ones that I never seen before."

Articuno was silent for a moment before finally speaking up.

"...Fine.  I'll believe you."  She said.  "I'll let you pass."

"You mean it?!"  I asked eagerly.

"HOWEVER!"  Articuno shrieked.  "Only if you prevent the disasters from spreading.  I'm counting on you!"

"Right!"  I nodded.

With a shriek, she flew off.  I sighed in relief.

"That was too close for comfort...  Thank you so much!!"  I exclaimed, eagerly hugging her.

I wanted to hug someone for quite some time.  And her fur felt so comfy & warm too.  She seemed to appreciate it, but she spoke up as she put me down.

"We should focus on stopping the calamities 1st."  Said Absol.  "If we don't, worse things will happen.  I felt its power & was lead here.  I think we should combine forces.
So I will join you."

"WHAT?!"  I asked, shocked.

"Yes.  We must combine forces to end all of this."  Said ABsol.  "And hopefully find the entity known as...  Giratina."

"...Who's that?"  I asked.

"...Giratina is an Pokemon known as the King of Darkness.  3,000 years ago, he committed horrible atrocities & attempted to awaken an entity known as Dark Matter."  Said Absol.  "The things he did were so immoral that every powerful creature in this world sealed him away in the Distortion World & cursed him to sleep for 3,000 years.  I fear he may be waking up soon & is already enlisting helpers to commit enough atrocities to break the seal so he may return."

"...What can we do about it...?"  I asked.

"...I don't know.  But I'll lend you my power."  Said Absol.

This made my eyes light up & smile widely.

"Th-Thank you so much...!"  I exclaimed.

"Also...  I have this for you."  Said Absol as she handed me a big Power Shard.  "A Super Shard."

"Whoa...!"  I exclaimed as I accepted it.

On a whim, I checked the 2 boxes I got.  One had a Rainbow Gummi & the other had a Bronze Dojo Ticket & 2 Power Shards.  Putting everything away, we set off further in the lone tundra.
